Italy stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.20%

Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials , Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Italy 40 declined 0.20%.

The best performers of the session on the Italy 40 were Banco Bpm SpA (BIT: BAMI ), which rose 3.37% or 0.22 points to trade at 6.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT: BPSI ) added 2.40% or 0.18 points to end at 7.67 and Bper Banca SpA (BIT: EMII ) was up 2.32% or 0.14 points to 6.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were DiaSorin SpA (BIT: DIAS ), which fell 2.57% or 2.75 points to trade at 104.35 at the close. Interpump Group (BIT: ITPG ) declined 2.47% or 1.06 points to end at 41.84 and Poste Italiane SpA (BIT: PST ) was down 2.46% or 0.33 points to 13.07.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 264 to 238 and 51 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bper Banca SpA (BIT: EMII ) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.32% or 0.14 to 6.08.

Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.87% or 1.92 to $68.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.76% or 1.96 to hit $73.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.70% or 43.70 to trade at $2,613.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 106.25.
