Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ), which rose 3.42% or 2.40 points to trade at 72.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR: ELI ) added 1.52% or 1.35 points to end at 90.00 and Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) was up 1.47% or 0.15 points to 10.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aedifica (EBR: AOO ), which fell 2.76% or 1.60 points to trade at 56.45 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ) declined 1.86% or 0.61 points to end at 32.10 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ) was down 1.67% or 0.95 points to 55.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 43 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.72% or 19.41 to $2,661.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $67.74 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.29 to trade at $71.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.90% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 106.51.
