Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction , Banking and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT: IKTr ), which rose 6.87% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Alumil (AT: ALMr ) added 6.47% or 0.28 points to end at 4.53 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT: ELHA ) was up 3.51% or 0.07 points to 1.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crete Plastics SA (AT: PLAKR ), which fell 2.10% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.00 at the close. Centric Hold (AT: DESr ) unchanged 1.17% or 0.00 points to end at 0.34 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT: EEEr ) was down 1.00% or 0.34 points to 33.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 40 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alumil (AT: ALMr ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 6.47% or 0.28 to 4.53.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.09% or 29.41 to $2,679.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.16% or 0.81 to hit $70.83 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.67 to trade at $74.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.76.
