Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.58%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ), which rose 2.84% or 3.57 points to trade at 129.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV: OMAB ) added 2.15% or 3.93 points to end at 186.90 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV: ASURB ) was up 2.14% or 11.70 points to 558.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ELEKTRA ), which fell 6.58% or 30.92 points to trade at 439.00 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) declined 5.11% or 1.38 points to end at 25.63 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) was down 5.01% or 16.56 points to 313.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 125 to 93 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.23% or 6.11 to $2,669.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.56% or 1.11 to hit $70.18 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.70 to trade at $73.79 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.12% to 20.15, while EUR/MXN rose 0.30% to 21.17.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 106.58.
