Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.26%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms , Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.26%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT: ELIr ), which rose 2.83% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT: INLr ) added 2.46% or 0.02 points to end at 1.00 and Quest Holdings (AT: IQTr ) was up 2.22% or 0.13 points to 5.98 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Domiki Kritis SA (AT: DKRr ), which fell 4.32% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.77 at the close. Viohalco SA (AT: VIOH ) declined 3.30% or 0.18 points to end at 5.27 and Optima bank SA (AT: OPTIMAr ) was down 2.33% or 0.30 points to 12.56.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 46 and 24 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.65% or 42.94 to $2,651.04 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.10% or 1.48 to hit $69.10 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.34 to trade at $72.54 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 107.79.
