Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.23%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities , Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.23% to hit a new 6-months low.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ), which rose 4.26% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.39 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (ELI: NVGR ) added 2.23% or 0.08 points to end at 3.48 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) was up 0.78% or 0.04 points to 5.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ), which fell 1.50% or 0.14 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ) declined 0.84% or 0.14 points to end at 16.51 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) was down 0.79% or 0.06 points to 7.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.26% or 0.22 to 5.39. Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.50% or 0.14 to 9.50.

Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.12% or 0.09 to $72.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.74% or 1.23 to hit $69.35 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.45% or 37.81 to trade at $2,645.91 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 107.39.
