Poland stocks higher at close of trade; WIG30 up 1.81%

Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Developers and Construction sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.81%.

The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Text SA (WA: TXTP ), which rose 7.60% or 5.00 points to trade at 70.80 at the close. Meanwhile, CCC SA (WA: CCCP ) added 6.53% or 12.00 points to end at 195.80 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA: PKN ) was up 4.60% or 2.17 points to 49.37 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA: ATTP ), which fell 1.87% or 0.35 points to trade at 18.35 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA: ACPP ) declined 1.25% or 1.20 points to end at 95.00 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA: PKO ) was down 0.84% or 0.50 points to 59.26.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 441 to 156 and 56 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.61% or 1.87 to $73.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.34% or 1.75 to hit $76.39 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.14% or 30.09 to trade at $2,671.09 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.07% to 4.27, while USD/PLN rose 0.94% to 4.17.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.83% at 109.19.
