Belgium stocks lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 1.58%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services , Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.58%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR: WDPP ), which rose 0.38% or 0.07 points to trade at 18.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR: ARGX ) added 0.25% or 1.60 points to end at 644.00 and Lotus Bakeries (EBR: LOTB ) was down 0.55% or 60.00 points to 10,780.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS: GLPG ), which fell 6.00% or 1.60 points to trade at 25.06 at the close. Elia (EBR: ELI ) declined 5.55% or 3.70 points to end at 63.00 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR: ABI ) was down 4.14% or 1.97 points to 45.65.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 69 to 27 and 14 ended unchanged.

Shares in Argen-X (EBR: ARGX ) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.25% or 1.60 to 644.00. Shares in Elia (EBR: ELI ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.55% or 3.70 to 63.00. Shares in Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR: ABI ) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.14% or 1.97 to 45.65.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.16% or 31.29 to $2,722.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.03% or 2.24 to hit $76.16 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 3.02% or 2.32 to trade at $79.24 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 109.57.
