Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.19%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction , Banking and Travel sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT: AVAr ), which rose 6.89% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Cement International SA (AT: TITCr ) added 3.49% or 1.40 points to end at 41.50 and Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ) was up 3.36% or 0.16 points to 4.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Lamda Develop (AT: LMDr ), which fell 1.93% or 0.14 points to trade at 7.10 at the close. Piraeus Port (AT: OLPr ) declined 1.84% or 0.55 points to end at 29.35 and Performance Technologies IT Solutions (AT: PREFr ) was down 1.74% or 0.10 points to 5.64.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 58 and 18 ended unchanged.

Shares in J. & P. Avax (AT: AVAr ) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.89% or 0.12 to 1.80. Shares in Titan Cement International SA (AT: TITCr ) rose to all time highs; rising 3.49% or 1.40 to 41.50.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.10% or 2.79 to $2,681.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.61% or 0.47 to hit $76.83 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.53 to trade at $80.48 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 109.21.
