Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Plastic , Chemical and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW: 2516 ), which rose 9.84% or 1.50 points to trade at 16.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Sercomm Corp (TW: 5388 ) added 8.93% or 10.00 points to end at 122.00 and Taimide Tech Inc (TW: 3645 ) was up 8.66% or 5.50 points to 69.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Universal Inc (TW: 1325 ), which fell 9.87% or 3.80 points to trade at 34.70 at the close. Adimmune Corp (TW: 4142 ) declined 7.24% or 1.85 points to end at 23.70 and Mao Bao Inc (TW: 1732 ) was down 6.88% or 2.20 points to 29.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW: 2516 ) rose to all time highs; gaining 9.84% or 1.50 to 16.75. Shares in Taimide Tech Inc (TW: 3645 ) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 8.66% or 5.50 to 69.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.48% or 0.37 to $76.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.39% or 0.31 to hit $80.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 11.31 to trade at $2,693.61 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.22% to 33.05, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.22% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 109.05.
