Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.31% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ), which rose 4.24% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) added 2.85% or 0.22 points to end at 7.94 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) was up 2.48% or 0.07 points to 3.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (ELI: SEM ), which fell 1.37% or 0.20 points to trade at 14.38 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) declined 1.15% or 0.11 points to end at 9.46 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) was down 0.79% or 0.03 points to 3.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.24% or 0.23 to 5.65. Shares in Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.85% or 0.22 to 7.94.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.84% or 0.68 to $80.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.07% or 0.83 to hit $76.56 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.87% or 24.01 to trade at $2,724.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.02% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.96% at 108.16.
