France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.48%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.48% to hit a new 3-months high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.46%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA: LVMH ), which rose 2.66% or 18.20 points to trade at 701.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA: HRMS ) added 2.56% or 64.00 points to end at 2,562.00 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA: ESLX ) was up 2.00% or 4.90 points to 250.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (EPA: VIV ), which fell 2.44% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.52 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) declined 1.40% or 0.18 points to end at 12.66 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) was down 1.08% or 0.25 points to 22.99.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which unchanged 10.00% to 0.00, Valneva (EPA: VLS ) which was up 5.56% to settle at 2.24 and Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which gained 4.94% to close at 2.21.

The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA: ETL ) which was down 4.40% to 2.13 in late trade, Ipsen SA (EPA: IPN ) which lost 2.68% to settle at 119.90 and Vivendi SA (EPA: VIV ) which was down 2.44% to 2.52 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 263 to 230 and 92 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hermes International SCA (EPA: HRMS ) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.56% or 64.00 to 2,562.00. Shares in EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA: ESLX ) rose to all time highs; up 2.00% or 4.90 to 250.00.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.41% or 11.21 to $2,759.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.65% or 1.28 to hit $76.11 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.91% or 0.73 to trade at $79.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.27% at 107.82.
