Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.65%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ), which rose 6.82% or 44.50 points to trade at 697.40 at the close. Meanwhile, ADS Ozon Holdings PLC ORD SHS (MCX: OZONDR ) added 4.12% or 141.00 points to end at 3,563.00 and AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX: AFKS ) was up 2.91% or 0.42 points to 14.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX: ALRS ), which fell 1.65% or 0.92 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO (MCX: MAGN ) declined 0.97% or 0.36 points to end at 36.15 and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ) was down 0.91% or 0.61 points to 66.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 141 to 107 and 4 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 2.83% to 36.73.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.34% or 9.39 to $2,761.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.62% or 1.22 to hit $74.22 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 1.17 to trade at $77.83 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.62% to 99.87, while EUR/RUB rose 0.75% to 104.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 107.94.
