Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.36%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare , Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.36%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR: ELI ), which rose 3.50% or 2.15 points to trade at 63.50 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) added 2.31% or 4.25 points to end at 188.05 and Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) was up 2.28% or 0.23 points to 10.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR: ACKB ), which fell 5.88% or 11.50 points to trade at 184.00 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ) declined 1.33% or 2.10 points to end at 155.90 and Lotus Bakeries (EBR: LOTB ) was down 1.17% or 120.00 points to 10,100.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 46 to 45 and 18 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.50% or 13.79 to $2,778.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.42% or 0.31 to hit $74.31 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $78.23 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.95% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 107.07.
