Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 2.41%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 2.41%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS: ADYEN ), which rose 6.70% or 89.20 points to trade at 1,419.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon Ltd (AS: AEGN ) added 4.92% or 0.25 points to end at 5.37 and Prosus (AS: PRX ) was up 4.19% or 1.51 points to 37.42 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Heineken (AS: HEIN ), which rose 0.16% or 0.12 points to trade at 74.12 at the close. Universal Music Group NV (AS: UMG ) added 0.78% or 0.18 points to end at 23.39 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) was up 1.12% or 0.04 points to 3.97.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 90 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.88% or 0.54 to $60.96 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.59% or 0.38 to hit $64.38 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.82% or 26.66 to trade at $3,217.94 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 99.37.
