France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.86%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials , Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.86%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.97%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ), which rose 6.55% or 0.51 points to trade at 8.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA: SGOB ) added 5.80% or 4.94 points to end at 90.18 and Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) was up 4.95% or 1.90 points to 40.28 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA: LVMH ), which fell 7.82% or 41.45 points to trade at 488.65 at the close. Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ) declined 5.22% or 8.92 points to end at 162.08 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA: PERP ) was down 2.33% or 2.18 points to 91.32.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA: ETL ) which rose 12.84% to 4.13, Valeo SA (EPA: VLOF ) which was up 6.87% to settle at 8.18 and Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) which gained 6.55% to close at 8.33.

The worst performers were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA: LVMH ) which was down 7.82% to 488.65 in late trade, Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ) which lost 5.22% to settle at 162.08 and Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA: IPAR ) which was down 4.86% to 34.46 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 319 to 151 and 94 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.40% or 12.79 to $3,239.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.78% or 0.48 to hit $61.05 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.52 to trade at $64.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP fell 0.87% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 99.89.
