Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Rubber sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.08%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Asmedia Technology Inc (TW: 5269 ), which rose 10.00% or 140.00 points to trade at 1,540.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW: 1538 ) added 10.00% or 2.25 points to end at 24.75 and Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW: 2314 ) was up 10.00% or 0.90 points to 9.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Cayman Engley Industrial Co Ltd (TW: 2239 ), which fell 7.05% or 2.25 points to trade at 29.65 at the close. Taiwan Taffeta Fabric Co Ltd (TW: 1454 ) declined 6.69% or 1.05 points to end at 14.65 and Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: 2424 ) was down 5.14% or 3.20 points to 59.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.27% or 0.78 to $60.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.21% or 0.78 to hit $63.89 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.97% or 63.71 to trade at $3,304.11 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.57% to 32.54, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.23% to 0.23.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 99.29.
