Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services , Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ), which rose 4.00% or 2.45 points to trade at 63.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (EBR: AGES ) added 3.09% or 1.60 points to end at 53.30 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR: ABI ) was up 2.64% or 1.48 points to 57.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR: UCB ), which fell 2.88% or 4.10 points to trade at 138.40 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ) declined 2.03% or 3.40 points to end at 163.80 and Argen-X (EBR: ARGX ) was down 1.25% or 6.60 points to 523.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 50 to 45 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.14% or 101.79 to $3,342.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.02% or 1.24 to hit $62.57 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.90% or 1.23 to trade at $65.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.90% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 99.21.
