Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.84%

– Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials , Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.84%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ), which rose 1.15% or 0.05 points to trade at 4.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) added 0.95% or 0.05 points to end at 5.30 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) was up 0.82% or 0.06 points to 7.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ), which fell 2.24% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.53 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) declined 2.18% or 0.24 points to end at 10.79 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) was down 1.74% or 0.01 points to 0.44.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.25% or 0.18 to $73.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 17.60 to trade at $2,632.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 106.15.
