Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.42%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms , Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Austriacard Holdings AG (AT: ACAGr ), which rose 4.26% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT: INLIFr ) added 4.05% or 0.18 points to end at 4.62 and Petros Petropoulos SA (AT: PTRr ) was up 3.99% or 0.32 points to 8.34 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT: ALBr ), which fell 3.39% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.85 at the close. Quality and Reliability SA (AT: QUAr ) declined 2.65% or 0.03 points to end at 1.18 and Iktinos Hellas (AT: IKTr ) was down 2.12% or 0.01 points to 0.32.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 47 and 21 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.93% or 25.01 to $2,710.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.70% or 0.48 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.36 to trade at $72.50 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.82.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 106.32.
